My Unresalution

       My unresolution this year is to stay out of what some teachers call "lala land". However, it's not as easy as it seems.... When I'm bored, I read. When I'm frustrated, I read. When I'm angry, stressed, confused, sad, or anxious, I read. Reading calms me and helps me to think straighter. However, I don't always have a book, so I've started to make up stories. The stories come from Lala Land. They're from all over and about all sorts of people, all mostly are made up. These stories come at random times. In the middle of math, my eyes might glaze over as I find the perfect line for my book..."He turned around. There was no way he would go see it. something with that much power shouldn't be moved. He willed his feet to to towards the exit, but his feet had turned to stone, unmoving, frozen. Come on! he urged, but it was useless. He looked back toward the glow. Curiosity took over. Zombie like, he crept toward the light. A golden box rested on a tall table. He ran his fingers along the it. It was rough. The gold box seemed to glow against the dark stone. Again he willed himself to turn around. Leave, leave! His hand stretched out toward the box. Stop, leave! His mind was screaming, It isn't worth it! He squinted his eyes shut and bit back a scream. His fingers brushed the cold metal of the box. They lifted it. Then his eyes betrayed him too, slowly they opened..." As easy as this should be, I don't think this resolution is going to last more than one flex.
