My Writing Life
So far my writing life has been limited to only a few years, since the fourth grade. This is when I started writing full paragraphs, which I would type, because I really hated actual writing. I would write one paragraph a week and doing it so much really hurt my interest in writing. Thankfully, in fifth grade my teacher would not give us quite as many writing assignments, but they were also 3-5 paragraphs long each. Another reason fifth grade got me to love writing was by the fact that we did it on Utah Compose, I loved Utah Compose because it would tell me the different areas of writing and help me see how I was doing in each area. This helped me improve in those specific areas. Finally, in sixth grade we did a little more writing than I would have hoped, mostly because of the Beehive Nominee summaries. (This is where I learned that I am a little to good at putting in details, my summaries would be 3-5 pages long). Though by the end of the year I was a pretty good writer, and I was pretty excited to be in the honors class for seventh grade, the only part I wasn't really looking forward to was the newspaper because I didn't know what it would be like. It turns out that I was wrong, because it it my favorite part of the class. In a nutshell, this is my history in writing.

Good job, and your writing skills are really good
ReplyDeleteI really like your post. You are a great writer and you have really good punctuation. I also loved Utah compose. I used it all the time. I think you could've made it into two paragraphs and indent but like I said you are a great writer and I think you will grow in your writing and become EVEN MORE better!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice.
DeleteYay for liking the newspaper! Great writer and solid introduction into who you are as a writer. I like that you have loved things that help you improve, like Utah Compose. That can-do attitude will go a long way. As you revise, add information about what type of writing you love. Well done! Glad to have you in class:)
