My favorite family holiday tradition is when all of our family comes up from California and Arizona and we do a big holiday fest along with opening presents early from us to our cousins and from our cousins to us.
It happens a week or two before Christmas happens so all of our family can come and have some fun with nieces and nephews, and it takes place at two different houses. We have dinner, listen to the adults talk politics, and the kids horse around for about an 1 hr. Then we go over to our next location. After the kids and teens get ready, they put on a nativity scene for the adults, while one of the adults reads the story. After that is over with, one teen tells the story about a Christmas tree and the kids put on cute, little ornaments for it. Then, we sing songs. After "Here Comes Santa Clause", Santa walks in. The kids always cry out in joy: "Look!! Its Santa Clause!!!", which makes the teens and adults laugh. Santa then gives presents to the kids and teens and we open them in front of the adults and Santa. We all cry out a "thank you" then Santa leaves. After that, we have cake and ice cream or pie and ice cream, and the adults carry on their talk politics, leaving the kids to go outside, play with their family, and the dogs, of course! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I really liked your post! Your tradition sounds like a lot of fun! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThis is so catchy! It sounds so fun! It made me laugh because my family talks politics also! I can't think of anything for you to make better. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you don't stay with the adults and talk politics! I like the length and it had comedy in it also
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish I was one of the little kids in your family and get to see Santa and scream with joy. I like how your parents talk politics and you should to, but all in all great job!
